About me
Katie Breneman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Missouri. She is also a certified teacher K-6th in the state of Missouri. She has worked in the fields of education and applied behavior analysis (ABA) for over 20 years, working in the school, home, and clinic settings.
After graduating from Maryville University with her degree in Elementary Education, she realized her passion for working with children with diverse needs and took a job working for Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) as an ABA Paraprofessional in the early childhood setting. While employed at SSD, Katie went back to school and earned a Master’s Degree in Behavior Analytic Psychology through the University of Nevada Reno’s satellite program and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Katie continued work at SSD as an Associate Behavior Analyst for three years working with school aged students, followed by serving as an ABA Coordinator for six years, overseeing ABA services for 130+ kids across eight school districts in St. Louis County. In order to be home more with her two young kids, Katie left her position at SSD and secured part time work in 2016 as an adjunct instructor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and as a Senior Behavior Analyst at a local ABA clinic. Through her seven years as an adjunct instructor, Katie realized her love for working in the world of academia and decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in ABA. Katie is currently a 2nd year Ph.D. student and graduate instructor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her primary research interest is using behavior analysis to improve the quality of higher education instruction.
